Robert J. Sywolski

Picture of Robert (Bob) Sywolski in Charleston home

For over 40 years Bob worked on Wall Street and ran large public and private multi-national corporations.  However, he always had a creative streak and painted in watercolors many years ago.  After retiring from his full-time CEO position in 2005, Bob decided to explore his love of painting once again.  While he is still active part-time in business and in some charities, he spends the majority of his free time sketching and painting.

In pursuing his dream of becoming a better painter, he takes lessons and classes whenever and wherever he can.  He began with lessons in 2009 in the studio of John Carroll Doyle, (www.johncdoyle.com),  with whom he still studies.  Along the way he has worked with Leo Mancini-Hresko (www.leomancinihresko.com),  in his Florence atelier, Amy Mosely in Florence, Italy,  Anne Blair Brown of Nashville, Tennessee (www.anneblairbrown.com), Marc Dalessio (www.marcdalessio.com)  and with James Kerr in Delray Beach, Florida.  He also takes classes at The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, (www.armoryart.org).

Currently Bob’s works can be seen on display at The Courtyard Art Gallery (www.courtyardartgallery.com) on East Bay Street, Charleston, SC.
